Colonel Rushikesh Dhotre Inspires Students at SoET Deeksharambh 2026–27 with Leadership and Nation–Building Values

As part of the Deeksharambh 2026–27 Induction Programme for first–year students of the School of Engineering and Technology (SoET), Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) hosted an inspiring interactive session by Colonel Rushikesh Dhotre, Officer in the Indian Army and Defence Leadership Mentor. The session aimed to instill values of discipline, resilience, leadership, and national responsibility among the newly admitted engineering students as they embarked on their academic journey.

Addressing the gathering, Colonel Dhotre encouraged students to dream big and pursue their goals with clarity of purpose. He emphasized that success is determined not by the speed at which one progresses, but by choosing the right direction in life. Urging students to develop a larger purpose beyond personal achievements, he reminded them of their responsibility toward their families, society, and the nation.

Drawing from his distinguished career in the Indian Army, including his experiences in challenging terrains such as Siachen, Colonel Dhotre shared valuable lessons on courage, perseverance, teamwork, and leadership under pressure. He highlighted that failures are stepping stones to growth and encouraged students to cultivate a strong mindset, embrace continuous learning, remain adaptable to changing circumstances, and maintain a disciplined daily routine.

He also stressed the importance of building meaningful friendships, maintaining a positive attitude, respecting diverse cultures, and always being willing to help others. According to him, true leadership is built on integrity, resilience, and the ability to remain composed while making critical decisions in demanding situations.

The session concluded with an engaging question–and–answer interaction, during which students enthusiastically sought guidance on topics including CDS preparation, mental strength, managing anxiety, battlefield experiences, self–analysis, career opportunities abroad, and leadership in high–pressure environments. Responding with practical insights and personal experiences, Colonel Dhotre motivated students to remain focused on lifelong learning and to approach every challenge with determination and confidence.

The interactive session formed an integral part of SoET Deeksharambh 2026–27, which is designed to help newly admitted students transition smoothly into university life while exposing them to inspiring personalities, industry experts, and thought leaders. By engaging with accomplished professionals such as Colonel Rushikesh Dhotre, students gain valuable perspectives that extend beyond academics and contribute to their holistic development.

Through such initiatives, Pimpri Chinchwad University continues to nurture future engineers who are not only technically competent but also socially responsible, value–driven, and prepared to lead with purpose in an ever–evolving world.
