PCU's Pathway to Academic, Industrial, and Entrepreneurial Growth
Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) stands as a hub of academic excellence and cutting-edge research, with expertise spanning artificial intelligence and machine learning, sensors and IoT, pharma, medicinal nutrition, psychology, advanced materials including semiconductors, energy materials, nanomaterials, biopolymers, and composites, as well as system design, modeling, and simulation. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as over 1200 Apple computers for computational research, and strengthened by collaborations with national research labs and leading Indian and foreign universities, PCU fosters interdisciplinary innovation and practical applications. With more than 1371 publications, 43+ patents, 32 books significant funding, and active student involvement, the university has made impactful contributions to computer science engineering, applied sciences, sustainability, and public health, addressing global challenges while building strong industry and academic partnerships that amplify the societal relevance of its research. Currently, more than 150 Ph.D students are performing their research in science , engineering, law and management
PCU is establishing a state-of-the-art research center that will soon provide students with hands-on experience in advanced materials processing and synthesis, including semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, polymers, nanomaterials, catalysts, and AI/ML-driven processes. The facility will enable fabrication of devices such as lithium-ion batteries, super-capacitors, solar cells, and sensors, while offering comprehensive characterization tools like XRD, FESEM, HPLC, and GC, supported by robust simulation capabilities integrated with AI/ML. With foreign universities and industries PCU is already having collaboration. The centre will open by 24/7 and serve as a hub for fundamental, applied, and industry-driven research, positioning PCU as a leader in innovation and global partnerships. The following research have been focussed for next three years.
