Call for Papers

Original, unpublished research on intelligence that acts in the physical world. 20–21 February 2027 · Pimpri Chinchwad University, Pune, India.

Introduction

Artificial intelligence is moving out of the browser and into the world. Systems that reason are increasingly expected to act — to plan, coordinate, manipulate, navigate, manufacture and maintain, under real physical constraints and real consequences. ICPAIAS 2027 is an international forum dedicated to this transition.

Organised by Pimpri Chinchwad University, Pune, at the centre of India’s automotive, robotics and manufacturing ecosystem, with Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Germany, as technical partner, ICPAIAS 2027 brings together researchers, engineers, industry practitioners and policy voices working on agentic AI, physical and embodied intelligence, autonomous systems and the assurance frameworks that make them deployable.

Objectives

  1. To advance research at the convergence of agentic reasoning, embodied intelligence and autonomous physical systems.
  2. To connect academic research with deployable industrial practice through keynotes, panels and industry participation.
  3. To provide a rigorously reviewed international platform for research scholars, faculty and early-career engineers.
  4. To strengthen international collaboration between institutions, laboratories and industry.
  5. To place safety, explainability and governance at the centre of autonomy research rather than at its margin.

Scope

Original, unpublished research on: agentic AI; multi-agent systems; physical and embodied AI; robotics and intelligent machines; autonomous vehicles and drones; industrial autonomy and Industry 5.0; digital twins and cyber-physical systems; edge AI and AIoT; and trustworthy, explainable and safe autonomous AI.

Submissions must have a clear connection to physical action, embodiment or real-world deployment. Application-heavy submissions (agriculture, healthcare, energy, smart cities, defence, education) are routed to the closest domain track and tagged Applied.

Technical tracks

Submissions are invited in, but not limited to, the following nine tracks.

Paper format

FormatIEEE conference, two-column
Paper sizeA4
LengthUp to 6 pages, including references
FilePDF, anonymised for double-blind review

Prepare your paper with the official IEEE conference template for A4 paper. For review, replace the names and affiliations in the template’s author block with “Anonymous Author(s)”.

LaTeX users: use the IEEE conference template from the IEEE template page or Overleaf, set to A4.

Submission guidelines

  1. Submissions are made exclusively through the conference management system linked from this website. Email submissions are not accepted.
  2. Papers must be original and not under review elsewhere. Simultaneous submission is grounds for immediate rejection and notification to the authors’ institutions.
  3. Papers must be prepared in the IEEE conference format (A4) using the official template, and must not exceed 6 pages, including references.
  4. Double-blind review: remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgements and self-identifying references from the submitted PDF.
  5. Every submission must include a Deployment Risk and Limitations statement (max. 200 words) describing practical constraints, failure modes and safety considerations. Submissions without it are desk-rejected.
  6. Similarity screening: papers exceeding 15% overall similarity, or 5% from any single source, are rejected without review.
  7. Generative-AI use must be declared. AI tools may be used for language editing, but may not be listed as authors. AI-generated results, data or citations are grounds for rejection and reporting.
  8. At least one author of each accepted paper must register at the author rate and present in person (or, in approved cases, in the designated virtual session). Papers not presented will not be forwarded for publication.
  9. Maximum two papers per registered presenting author.

Review process

All submissions are screened for scope, formatting, similarity and completeness, then undergo double-blind peer review by a minimum of three independent reviewers from the international Technical Program Committee. Reviews score originality, technical soundness, experimental rigour, clarity, relevance to the physical-AI scope, and reproducibility. Track Chairs consolidate reviews; borderline cases go to a meta-review. Conflict-of-interest declarations are mandatory for all reviewers, and no reviewer may handle a paper from their own institution. Full review statistics — submissions, desk rejections, reviews per paper and acceptance rate — will be published on this website after the event.

Publication ethics

ICPAIAS 2027 follows COPE principles. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, image manipulation, duplicate submission, citation manipulation, gift or ghost authorship, and undeclared conflicts of interest will result in rejection, retraction where applicable, and formal notification to the authors’ institutions. Authorship changes after submission require written consent from all authors and approval of the Publication Chair. Complaints and appeals may be addressed to the General Chair and will be handled within 15 working days. Read the full policy →

Special sessions

Up to four special sessions may be proposed by members of the Technical Program Committee or Advisory Committee. A proposal needs a title, a 300-word scope, organiser bios, and a commitment to bring at least six submissions. Special-session papers go through the same double-blind review. Proposals close 30 November 2026. Send proposals to icpaias2027@pcu.edu.in.
