School of Law, PCU successfully organized a Cybercrime Awareness Workshop for 6th to 12th-grade students at Kevalya Dham Niketan School, Lonavala.
The main objective of the session was to educate young minds about the growing threats and safety measures related to digital and online activities.
Key Highlights of the Workshop:
- Introduction to Cyber Crime: Students were introduced to the concept of cyber crime and how it affects individuals, especially young internet users.
- Types of Cyber Frauds: The session explained common frauds like phishing, online scams, fake websites, identity theft, and online shopping frauds.
- Identification of Cyber Attacks: Students were taught how to recognize signs of hacking, suspicious links, and harmful content.
- Reporting Mechanism: The importance of reporting cyber crimes was emphasized. Students were guided on how and where to report such incidents including the national cyber crime portal www.cybercrime.gov.in and local helpline number 1930.
- Digital Responsibility: The workshop also focused on responsible digital behavior, importance of strong passwords, privacy settings on social media, and avoiding oversharing online.
The session was interactive and informative, with real-life examples, short videos, and a Q&A segment that engaged the students actively. The workshop was highly appreciated by students and staff, and it contributed greatly to spreading cyber safety awareness among young learners.
