
Overview
The School of Law, Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU), successfully organized Deeksharambh 2026–27 on 6 August 2026, welcoming its newly admitted students with an inspiring induction programme focused on justice, ethics, leadership, and professional excellence.
The programme was graced by Hon'ble Justice H. L. Gokhale, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by Mr. Shekhar Gaikwad, Retired IAS Officer, and Adv. Vijay Pamnani, Advocate, High Court, as Guests of Honour. The ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Dr. Santosh S. Sonawane, Vice Chancellor, PCU; Dr. Anil Maheshwari, Registrar, PCU; and Dr. Ashish G. Deshpande, Dean & Professor, School of Law.
Welcoming the students, Dr. Ashish G. Deshpande described law as an ocean of knowledge and encouraged students to embrace patience, curiosity, and continuous learning. He highlighted the diverse career opportunities available in the legal profession, ranging from litigation and judiciary to corporate law, public administration, policymaking, and academia.
Addressing the gathering, Adv. Vijay Pamnani emphasized that law is a noble profession dedicated to justice and public service. Sharing his journey as a first-generation lawyer, he inspired students to pursue excellence through integrity, perseverance, and consistent effort while exploring opportunities across litigation, corporate practice, government services, and legal consultancy.
In his keynote address, Hon'ble Justice H. L. Gokhale encouraged students to build a strong foundation through reading, legal drafting, research, advocacy, and critical thinking. Highlighting the expanding opportunities in the judiciary, corporate sector, teaching, public service, and policymaking, he urged students to remain disciplined, respect their teachers, maintain good health, and strive for excellence. Drawing inspiration from the lives of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Ram Jethmalani, he emphasized that dedication and continuous learning are the cornerstones of a successful legal career.
The programme concluded with an engaging interactive session, where students discussed fundamental rights, the evolving legal landscape, and the growing role of law in building an equitable society.
Deeksharambh 2026–27 marked the beginning of an enriching academic journey, inspiring students to uphold justice, embrace ethical leadership, and contribute meaningfully to society as future legal professionals.
