Pune: 20 th July 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) warmly welcomed the new batch of Pune Management School through Deeksharambh 2026–27, the induction programme symbolizing an auspicious beginning filled with new friendships, opportunities, learning, and self-discovery. The event marked the start of an important journey for the incoming management students as they stepped into a world of leadership, innovation, and personal growth.
The programme commenced with Saraswati Puja in the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Girish Desai · Executive Director at Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust (PCET) & PCU, Dr. Santosh S. Sonavane Vice-Chancellor, PCU, Shri. Sachin Itkar - Maharashtra Economic Development Council (MEDC) Vice President, Governing Board Member - PCU, Dr. Ganesh Rao - Group Advisor – Management Program at PCU, Dr. Amit Patil - Dean and Head, School of Management, Shri. Shankar Jadhav - Director CIO I Director - Technocraft Industries, Shri. Pankaj Sathe - MD, Technica Engineering and Member of Executive Board, KPIT, CA Pramod Jain - Valuation and ESG Professional, and the university leadership. An introductory video showcasing the vision and achievements of PCU set the tone for the ceremony.
Welcoming the students and guests, Dr. Amit Patil emphasized that Deeksharambh was not just the beginning of an academic programme but the beginning of a transformative journey. He encouraged students to embrace innovation, excellence, integrity, confidence, emotional intelligence, and self-discovery while actively participating in academics, cultural activities, and sports. He also highlighted the importance of respecting diversity, collaborating with others, and preparing themselves to meet the demands of a globalized world.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ganesh Rao described PCU as a great place of learning and encouraged students to develop a positive mindset, adapt to global trends, and strive for glorious success while making the most of the healthy and inspiring environment provided by the university.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Santosh S. Sonavane welcomed the fourth batch of Pune Management School and highlighted PCU’s strong legacy under PCET. He emphasized the university’s industry-integrated curriculum, choice-based learning system, regular industrial visits, interaction with industry experts, project-based learning, and the “One Faculty One Industry” initiative. He assured parents that their children were in safe hands and encouraged students to maintain regular attendance and make the next two years count.
Shri. Sachin Itkar motivated students to dream big and become active contributors to India’s growth story. He highlighted the immense opportunities emerging from India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047 and encouraged students to develop a positive attitude, continuously acquire knowledge, read extensively, define their career goals, build their unique strengths, and never stop learning.
Representing the industry, Mr. Pankaj Sathe spoke about the rapidly changing business landscape driven by digitalization, AI, and innovation. He encouraged students to maximize every opportunity, nurture entrepreneurial thinking, build emotional intelligence, and become self-reliant leaders capable of adapting to change.
CA Pramod Jain urged students to view the next two years as an investment in their future and maximize the return on that investment through learning, networking, and leadership. He encouraged them to demand more from themselves and their faculty, become value creators, and aspire to become leaders rather than job seekers.
Chief Guest Mr. Shankar Jadhav, inspired students to question assumptions, seek knowledge beyond textbooks, stay disciplined, read newspapers, understand markets, and use technology as a tool for learning. He emphasized that management education should develop the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the students. As they embarked on their management journey at Pune Management School, Deeksharambh 2026–27 served as a reminder that this was more than an induction it was the moment they realized that their journey had truly begun, opening doors to lifelong friendships, new opportunities, personal growth, and the foundation for future success.
