
Today, March 8, 2023, Dr. Animesh Jha, a professor at the University of Leeds in the UK, and Dr. Matjaz Valant, a professor of ceramic materials and Vice Rector at the University of Nova Gorica in Slovenia, came to PCET and PCU to work together on research. The primary purpose of the meeting was to strengthen international ties among PCU, the University of Leeds, and the University of Nova Gorica.
Dr. Manimala Puri, I/C Vice Chancellor of PCET’s Pimpri Chinchad University, welcomed Dr. Animesh Jha from the University of Nova Gorica in Slovenia. Dr. Govind N. Kulkarni, Director of PCCoE, welcomed Dr. Matjaz Valant, Professor at the University of Leeds.
Dr. Girish Desai, Executive Director, Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust, has provided all attendees with information about PCET’s Institutes as well as the newly established Pimpri Chinchwad University, Sate, Pune. He mentions strategic collaboration with the University of Leeds, UK, and the University of Nova Gorica, Slovenia, for the student exchange programmes.
The international delegate appreciated all the initiatives taken by PCET and its academic excellence for the students and has committed to supporting PCET students at their universities to conduct research, internships, and academic exchange programmes.
Ms. Andrea Kühn, The Consulate General of South Africa, visited Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU), today.
Dr. Girish Desai, Executive Director, PCET, informed Ms. Andrea Kühn about the recent achievements of Pimpri Education Trust and about the newly established Pimpri Chinchwad University.
Dr. Manimala Puri, Group Director, provided information about the university’s unique pedagogy, new age programs, skill development, and cutting-edge labs.
Dr. Anuradha Thakre, Dean International Relations, PCCOE, Pune, has briefed about the PCET initiatives in international collaborations, wherein till date we have 24 MOUs and bilateral agreements with universities in 11 countries.
Ms. Andrea Kühn, Consulate General of South Africa, briefed PCU on various initiatives taken by the South African government to facilitate student and faculty exchange programmes at Pimpri Chinchad University and 46 South African universities during the meeting.
She was very happy to hear that PCET is already in talks with Johannesburg University about an international collaboration on a student and faculty exchange programme.
She was particularly interested in the niche programmes offered by PCU, such as B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, BBA – Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Fintech, Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, Mass Media & Journalism, Bachelor of Design in Fashion & Apparel, Product Design, Visual Communication, B.Sc in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics, Computer Science, and Clinical Psychology, and she stated that many South African students would be interested in furthering their studies in such niche courses.
Ms. Andrea Kühn, The Consulate General of South Africa also praised Pimpri Chinchwad University’s efforts to provide scholarships to South African students.
