The theme

AI is moving out of the browser and into the world.

Systems that reason are increasingly expected to act — to plan, coordinate, manipulate, navigate, manufacture and maintain, under real physical constraints and real consequences. ICPAIAS 2027 is an international forum dedicated to that transition.

Digital reasoning

Agents that plan and decide

Tool-using and LLM-driven agents, multi-agent coordination, planning under uncertainty, world models and decision-making.

Real-world autonomous action

Machines that act safely

Robots, vehicles, drones, production cells and digital twins — with the safety, assurance and governance layer underneath.

Our scope is deliberately focused: intelligence that acts on the physical world. A paper on an LLM-driven agent controlling a warehouse robot fleet is squarely in scope; a paper on a new text-classification model is not.

Technical tracks

Submissions are invited in, but not limited to, the following nine tracks. Each track has a national Track Chair and an international Co-Chair. Application-heavy papers go to their closest domain track and are tagged Applied.

Track 01

Agentic AI and Autonomous Decision-Making

Planning, tool use, memory and LLM-driven agents — and the step from language reasoning to grounded action.

Scope & topics
Track 02

Multi-Agent Systems and Collaborative Intelligence

Coordination, negotiation and emergent behaviour across software agents, robot teams, fleets and human–agent teams.

Scope & topics
Track 03

Physical AI and Embodied Intelligence

Perception–action loops, sim-to-real, world models, manipulation, locomotion and vision-language-action models.

Scope & topics
Track 04

Robotics and Intelligent Machines

Mechanisms, control, SLAM and navigation, human–robot interaction, cobots and robot software architecture.

Scope & topics
Track 05

Autonomous Vehicles, Drones and Intelligent Mobility

Perception, planning, control, connectivity and validation for ground, aerial and marine autonomous vehicles.

Scope & topics
Track 06

Industrial Autonomous Systems and Industry 5.0

Human-centric manufacturing, adaptive process control, predictive maintenance and industrial agents.

Scope & topics
Track 07

Digital Twins and Cyber-Physical Systems

Models that mirror and steer physical assets: twin architectures, simulation-in-the-loop and CPS verification.

Scope & topics
Track 08

Edge AI, AIoT and Distributed Intelligence

Efficient on-device inference, edge–cloud orchestration, federated learning and sensing infrastructure.

Scope & topics
Track 09

Trustworthy, Explainable and Safe Autonomous AI

Safety, security, explainability, robustness, governance, standards and law for systems that act physically.

Why ICPAIAS

Built for research that has to work in the real world.

Published review statistics

Submissions, reviews per paper, acceptance rate and desk rejections are published after the event.

Deployment risk statement

Every submission states its practical limits, failure modes and safety considerations.

Deploy-or-Don’t panel

Industry practitioners respond to selected papers: would we deploy this, and what’s missing?

Mentorship clinic

Every student first-author is paired with a TPC mentor for a pre-presentation clinic on 19 February.

Reproducibility badge

Share code, data or artifacts with your paper to earn a visible badge in the programme.

International technical partner

Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Germany, is the technical partner of ICPAIAS 2027.
