Bridging Academic Learning and Practical Skills: Successful Workshop on Data-Driven Python at Pimpri Chinchwad University
Pimpri Chinchwad, October 19, 2024 — In line with its commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and practical skills, the Innovation and Incubation Cell (IIC) at Pimpri Chinchwad University successfully conducted a workshop titled "Hands-on Data-Driven Python: Working with Databases." The event attracted enthusiastic participation from students and faculty across the university, all eager to enhance their skills in Python GUI programming and database connectivity.
The workshop commenced with an inauguration ceremony, where Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Sudeep Thepade addressed the audience, emphasizing the critical importance of data literacy in today’s technology-driven landscape. “It is our mission at PCU to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices. By organizing workshops like this one, we equip our students and faculty with skills essential for solving real-world problems using data, providing experiences that complement classroom education,” Dr. Thepade remarked. He encouraged participants to seize the opportunity to enhance their skills, wishing them success throughout the workshop.
The workshop featured expert-led sessions by Dr. Sagar Pande and Mr. Shrikant Mahindrakar. Dr. Pande guided students through the fundamentals of Graphical User Interface (GUI) development using Python, incorporating real-time hands-on practice to reinforce the learning experience. Mr. Mahindrakar conducted interactive sessions on database connectivity with Python programming, offering practical exercises to help attendees master essential techniques for integrating Python with various database systems. Participants thoroughly enjoyed these sessions, finding them highly beneficial.
Faculty coordinators Mr. Ankush Dahat and Mr. Tushar Mahore, alongside the speakers, played a vital role in facilitating the workshop, actively assisting participants by addressing their queries during hands-on practice sessions. Their dedicated efforts ensured that students could effectively navigate challenges and gain a comprehensive understanding of the concepts covered.
This event was blessed by Shri Harshavardhan Patil (Chancellor - PCU) and trustees Shri Dnyaneshwar P. Landge (Chairman - PCET), Smt. Padma M. Bhosale (Vice Chairperson), Shri Shantaram D. Garade (Treasurer), Shri Vitthal S.
