PCU Hosts Its First time Ever PCUs IDEATHON 2K24 with 150+ Enthusiastic Student Participants.

21 October 2024 - In its ongoing effort to promote innovation and foster creative problem-solving skills, the Innovation and Incubation Cell (IIC) at Pimpri Chinchwad University organized the first-ever IDEATHON 2K24 on October 21, 2024. The event saw participation from 31 highly motivated teams of students having 150+ participation representing various schools across the Pimpri Chinchwad University, making it a dynamic platform for aspiring innovators to showcase their hidden technical talent and their vision towards the betterment of society.

The PCU’s “IDEATHON 2K24” was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Dr. Manimala Puri and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Sudeep Thepade, who set the tone for the event by encouraging the participants to compete with zeal and determination.

This was blessed by Shri Harshavardhan Patil (Chancellor - PCU) and trustees Shri Dnyaneshwar P. Landge (Chairman - PCET), Smt. Padma M. Bhosale (Vice Chairperson), Shri Shantaram D. Garade (Treasurer), Shri Vitthal S. Kalbhor (Secretary), Mr. Ajinkya Kalbhor (Management Representative), and Mr. Narendra Landge (Management Representative), whose guidance continues to inspire academic excellence at PCU.

In her inaugural address, Vice Chancellor I/c Dr. Manimala Puri emphasized the importance of innovation for societal development and wished the students to "give their best in this competition in order to achieve the best for society." She encouraged them to think beyond the competition and focus on creating impactful solutions that could contribute to real-world problems.

Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Sudeep Thepade echoed his sentiments, stating, PCU’s “IDEATHON 2K24” is not just a competition but a launch pad for future innovators. At PCU, we are committed to nurturing a spirit of innovation among our students and providing them with the support they need to excel both academically and practically."

The PCU’s “IDEATHON 2K24”  was organized under the leadership of  Dr. Sagar Pande, Dr. Neeru Malik, Mr. Ankush Dahat, and Mr. Tushar Mahore, who were instrumental in making this event a reality for the first time at the university. Their combined efforts ensured that the event was not only a success but also a memorable experience for all participants.

After hours of intense brainstorming and creative presentations, three winning teams were selected by a panel of esteemed external judges: Dr. Rachana Y. Patil, Associate Professor & Head of the Computer Engineering Department at PCOE, Pune, and Dr. Aparna Pande, Principal at Nutan College of Engineering and Research, Talegaon, Pune. Their expertise and fair evaluation helped determine the best ideas among the competing teams.
 

The IIC, led by President Dr. Vijay Patil & Vice President Dr. Neeru Malik extends their gratitude to all participants, organizers, faculty members, and the IT support team for their contributions to making PCU’s “IDEATHON 2K24”  a resounding success. Special thanks were conveyed to the entire team of PCU’s “IDEATHON 2K24”, including leadership of VC Dr. Manimala Puri (Vice Chancellor I/c) and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Sudeep Thepade, for their unwavering support in promoting such innovative endeavors and wish the team to arrange such events in every semester.
