Pimpri Chinchwad University Celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour!

PCET’s Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) organized a grand Independence Day celebration on Thursday, 15th August 2024, at its campus. The event was marked by a vibrant display of patriotism and a strong sense of national pride among the students, faculty, and staff.
The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by the Chief Guest, Lt. Commander (Retd.) Vivek Kamat, M.B.A., B.E., of the Indian Navy, Brigadier (Retd.) Jayprakash Sapatnekar accompanied by other distinguished dignitaries. The sight of the tricolour fluttering against the morning sky, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem, set the tone for the day's celebrations.
The President of the function, Brigadier (Retd.) Jayprakash Sapatnekar of the Regiment of Artillery, Indian Army, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of dedication and discipline in the service of the nation. The Chief Guest, Lt. Commander Vivek Kamat, captivated the audience with his insightful address on the essence of patriotism, urging the students to uphold the values of integrity and selflessness.He urged the students to upskill themselves and make the nation proud. He gave the slogan of 'Nation First' to all.
 Dr. Manimala Puri (Vice Chancellor I/c) and Dr. Sudeep Thepade (Pro Vice Chancellor) shared their vision and enlightened the audience with a great sense of Patriotism. Dr. Puri shared the inspiration of soldiers and their sacrifices for our country. Dr. Thepade shared the Mantra of Satyamev Jayate invoking a sense of honesty towards the nation and all.

Adding to the patriotic fervour, students of PCU showcased a series of enthralling performances that celebrated the spirit of independence. The performances, ranging from soulful renditions of patriotic songs to dynamic dance routines, left the audience spellbound. Each act was a tribute to the nation, reflecting the students' deep love for their country and their appreciation for the sacrifices made by freedom fighters.
The occasion was further enriched by the presence of PCET's honourable Board of Trustees, including Shri. Dnyaneshwar P. Landge, Chairman, PCET; Smt. Padma M. Bhosale, Vice Chairperson, PCET; Shri. Vitthal S. Kalbhor, Secretary, PCET; Shri. Shantaram D. Garade, Treasurer, PCET; Shri. Narendra D. Landge, Management Representative, PCET; and Shri. Ajinkya V. Kalbhor, Management Representative, PCET, Dr. Girish Desai (Executive Director - PCET), Shri Harshavardhan Patil (Chancellor - PCU).
 Their presence added a sense of gravitas to the event, reflecting the institution's commitment to nurturing a patriotic spirit among its students.
The celebration concluded with a sense of unity and collective resolve, as the entire PCU community came together to commemorate the nation's independence and renew their commitment to its progress and prosperity.
